Here’s another Sarah Records release (#018 to be exact) that manages to capture the Sarah Records essence but take it in another direction than that taken by yesterday’s Action Painting! song. I think the common misperception of the label was that “all” of their releases were, well, wimpy and twee. That’s hardly the case as demonstrated here, the second Field Mice single that, as it just so happens, is another Ditching Boy favorite. I don’t think the band ever really matched this track ("Emma’s House" notwithstanding) as the rest of the material was just too inconsistent in regards to the tastes of the Ditching Boy trellises.

Speaking of misperceptions of things being wimpy: Mrs. Ditching Boy and I went and saw the Who last night. Some friends (I don’t want to mention names so lets just refer to them as...JOEL BRAMMEIER) of mine moaned and groaned when I mentioned we were going. Well, outside of the “little to be desired” vocals the come with old age, the show was dynamite and the band blew away a lot of the other “younger” acts I’ve seen this year. Say what you will but these guys can still rock and they have the arsenal of hits as their tools to do so.

... "letting go" is another incredibly addictive track!
