Naked Raygun "Treason"

While this isn’t my favorite Naked Raygun song, it is the first one that I ever heard by this group who are considered by many to be one of the purveyors of the Chicago sound. It was sometime during my sophmore year of high school and Understand? had just been released, we were at a party thrown by a guy named Tom whose last name I now for the life of me can’t remember and, if memory serves, a joint was involved.

That’s probably all you need to know but I will say that the very next day I got up and went down to what used to be Beautiful Day records in downtown LaGrange and purchased a cassette copy of Understand?. This cassette was very much cherished by yours-truly for those times when I was traveling to and from wherever I needed to be and a little aggression needed to be let out, usually a result of whatever injustice a teenager felt was being bestowed upon him.

Looks like we'll be at the same venues this weekend. I'm at the late Raygun show, Ted Leo too.

I had to give my Josh Rouse tickets away, but heard it was a good show.
