Wild Swans "Revolutionary Spirit"

Wild Swans “Revolutionary Spirit” (mp3)

What’s better than a 45 with a fantastic a-side? A 45 that has a just as fantastic, and in some cases far superior, b-side.

I posted this one a ways back before being recently asked if I would perhaps re-post it. It’s always a toss-up as to which side of the Wild Swans’ 1982 debut release on Zoo Records that I prefer more; “The Revolutionary Spirit” will always be one of my all-time absolute favorite songs but “God Forbid” sure is tasty as well.

Some of my other favorite two-siders that I know have been discussed in these here pages include:

The Beatles-“Strawberry Fields Forever”/”Penny Lane”
Orange Juice-“Blueboy”/”Lovesick”
The Dovers-“She’s Gone”/”What Am I Gonna Do?”
The Buzzcocks-“Love You More”/”Noise Annoys”
The Eastern Dark-“Johnny & Dee Dee”/”Julie Is A Junkie”
