It's a complicated, fast-moving world -- particularly for someone trying to do marketing. And I worry constantly that I'm not doing things I really desperately need to do.
But then I get a big, professional-looking e-mail with the subject line "Are you using email marketing?" and suddenly I realize that lots of people are doing vastly worse than I am, and that there are people making money teaching 1996-level marketing strategies.
And I'm just the kind of guy that feels better because of that.
Edit: Yes, the first time I did spend so much time making sure I spelled "assuaged" correctly that I misspelled "worries" with one R. Luckily, I'm no longer an editor, so that's not ironic.
